Vendasta is looking for an experienced leader with a background in content development and inbound marketing to take Saskatoon’s fastest-growing tech company to the next level.

The director of content is responsible for fueling our sales and marketing engine with the content needed to generate leads and help our partners succeed. Not only should you be an expert at writing and research—you should have a solid background in digital marketing and know how to create high-converting blog posts, compelling case studies, and more.

While creativity and organization are essential traits, the most important characteristic is empathy. We’re on a mission to help businesses around the world conquer their local marketing, and we need someone who understands who these business owners are, what they need to be successful, and how to help them.


  • Manage all aspects of content production and content marketing strategy

    1. Maintain our content calendar and keep realistic timelines
    2. Prioritize content pieces and assign them to our content strategists
    3. Source third-party guest bloggers to attract new voices and audiences
    4. Write and edit content for Vendasta’s blog and other collateral as required
    5. Hold regular meetings to identify our highest priorities
  • Develop the Vendasta blog into an industry-leading resource
    1. Build a repertoire of guest bloggers and external communicators
    2. Have regular interactions with leaders from other departments to determine the most essential pieces of content
    3. Keep a close eye on leading publications in the industry and have writers contribute to those resources, thus garnering backlinks
    4. Leverage content we produce as a company to work for multiple departments—syndication, inside our platform, sales webinars, etc.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality through external communications
    1. Work with our events team to promote our best pieces of content through swag and presentation opportunities
    2. Gain traction as industry leaders and be referenced in worthwhile publications/events
    3. Draft and edit press releases that align with Vendasta’s key messaging.
  • Build a cohesive content team
    1. Maintain our content calendar and keep realistic timelines
    2. Ensure all team members have a voice and place to contribute ideas
    3. Facilitate team building activities and a place to contribute ideas, data, and feedback

Skills and assets

  • Extreme proficiency in both oral and written language. This could mean a degree in English, journalism, or related experience
  • Experience in leadership/management
  • Thorough understanding of SEO and content marketing. Inbound marketing certification through HubSpot is a big plus.
  • Experience with various types of writing — blogs, case studies, press releases, webpages, landing pages, ads, email campaigns, etc.
  • Understanding of WordPress
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships both internally and externally
